The main function of the company has been one of providing energy conservation computerized control expertise to all levels of government, universities and hospitals.
This has included the following:
The design and project management for computerized control system installations;
Energy studies and audits of existing buildings;
Energy conservation training for operators;
Development of manuals, Internet web sites, and other related promotional material;
Development of complete energy conservation programs;
Control system and mechanical troubleshooting;
Customized control strategy development for computerized control systems.
Ken has been the consultant, or sub-consultant, for over 100 computerized control conversions, working closely with the building operators to insure acceptance of this new technology.
Ken is a founding member and a Past President of both the local chapter of AEE and the Vancouver Island Chapter of ASHRAE.
Proven Energy Conservation Results
Sinclair Energy Services Ltd has been extremely successful at achieving or exceeding projected energy conservation goals. Much of this success is attributed to understanding present operating procedures with the successful transfer of the new energy conservation technology to the onsite operating staff. The set up of energy conservation opportunity implementation teams that encourages everyone’s input and participation has proven to be a mandatory step to insure effective use of new conservation technologies. If all the stakeholders do not buy into implemented projects, overall success is questionable. The use of extremely flexible highly functional low cost computerized DDC systems called Client Comfort, Energy Management Control, Campus Automation, Building Management, etc, Systems has always put in place a system that allows us to prove actual energy savings and quickly identify energy conservation problems from a modem connection.
Retrofit and upgrading existing multi-vendor building control systems with up todate, high performance, extremely cost effective technology is our specialty. We have had experience with most of the national automation vendors as well as all the locally manufactured systems. Each of our clients has uniquely solved their present automation problems with financial justification provided from improved energy conservation.
