After a few good years of presenting our Green Intelligent Buildings conference, Engineered Systems is starting anew in 2010 with its Sustainable Solutions Conference (SSC). Plan to join us in the Chicago area this June for the maiden voyage of this event.

So what's the difference? Basically, in the pursuit
of helping you to engineer high-performance buildings, the SSC scope is going
bigger to tackle the comprehensive range of building issues facing modern design
and facility engineers, owner, contractors, and system integrators.
The expanded SSC program will range from mechanical systems to building
envelope, on to lighting and controls. The content will emphasize practical case
studies of successful high-performance buildings as we pursue opportunities and
lessons at every phase of the process — design, delivery, and operations.

In this way, the SSC will better reflect the full range of topics we tackle in
Engineered Systems itself. We'll shine a light on what is working in chiller,
boiler, and ventilation strategy to increase sustainability. And of course,
intelligent building controls remains a key component in getting the most out of
the various building systems, and this will remain an ever-evolving, critical
part of our multi-track content.
The other component from our past events that will carry on is the networking.
Attendees will still enjoy the built-in opportunities for you to network with
each other outside the track sessions and to see the latest from participating
sponsors. Back inside the tracks, attendees and presenters will continue the ES
tradition of high-quality Q&A after the presentations themselves, which you just
can't get from a print article anywhere.
OK, that's the quick overview. Look forward to a ton of details about tracks and
speakers from me in the next few months as the event comes together. But for
now, I wanted to give you a heads-up about our new endeavor, since this
website's readership is primed to benefit from this event and many of you have
joined us for past conferences. Happy new year!
Finalized conference dates, venue and website for registration to follow.
