Every month there is a blizzard of information contained in the emails and newsletters that cross my desk on their way to AutomatedBuildings.com. Some of this information is not in the form of any type of content we can publish but I feel I should share with you these snippets, blog bits, Tweets, LinkedIn posts, and URL links that are about to fall off my desktop.

On a daily basis I tweet as @Ken_Sinclair https://twitter.com/Ken_Sinclair

I actual now have a few moments ;-) https://twitter.com/Ken_Sinclair/moments

I tweet links I think will be of interest and part of our rapid industry evolution.

Also, http://automatedbuildings.com/ maintains this LinkedIn online blog for the magazine, a great place to interact.

I also write a column twice a month for Contractor Mag  http://www.contractormag.com/author/Ken-Sinclair

And a column once a month for facilitiesnet Home of Building Operating Management & Facility Maintenance Decisions Magazines

But I still have stuff falling off my desk I feel I should share.

Can your "Smart IoT" building achieve JLL's latest 3:30:300:3000 rule?  This is represented by the addition of the “3000” to JLL’s now very familiar and globally referenced 3:30:300 rule, representing "cost of energy:cost of space:cost of employee" per unit area of floor space.

The “3000” figure relates to the unexpected benefits of highly interconnected building systems and their devices and sensors in delivering device level value data that can be turned into incredibly valuable real-time business operations data. This is a combination of space utilisation information plus productivity data set against a given set of environmental conditions, heat, quality of light, air quality, ease of space control and use, furnishing, social interaction and more.

IoT specialist Gooee has signed up engineering firm Croonwolter + Dros to connect more than 5,000 buildings it manages in the Netherlands.  Gooee will replace existing systems with its smart building operating system to optimise performance.Croonwolter + Dros said it will use Gooee as a main solution provider, rolling it out across its portfolio in combination with front-end solution Office App. The firm expects this technology to improve visibility and efficiencies.

Quick Guide to The Latest Commercial Building Energy Code Standards 06/19/2019 BY CRAIG DILOUI  Commercial building energy codes regulate the designed energy efficiency of nonresidential buildings. Current codes and standards require a broad range of lighting controls to ensure general lighting is turned OFF or reduced when it is not needed.

Connect your building automation systems today & reap rewards tomorrow "It’s the Amazon or Salesforce model applied to building automation, and it will be transformative."  In a few weeks, Sierra Monitor VP of Marketing Steve Shaw shares his insights during the Smart Industry webinar “BACnet to the Cloud: Connect your building automation systems today and reap rewards tomorrow.”  Today he previews his presentation and touches on homogenizing data structures, the intersection of business value and resources efficiency, and the scalability of cloud-based systems.
