IBB Review |
Frank Capuano |
Last week’s ConnectivityWeek conference included numerous presentations from over 150 speakers on topics covering the important issues and opportunities facing the industry today. These presentations were accompanied by an Expo of solutions, connectivity, energy and wireless products and numerous networking opportunities for attendees. The most unique networking opportunity was the IBB.
The Interoperable Blues Band (IBB), now in its 5th year, continues to bring together the industry like no other event can. The IBB is a musical performance focused on audience participation, which demonstrates that the sounds of “interoperability” and the harmonies “connectivity” can blend together to create an outstanding evening.
The IBB was organized by Leighton Wolffe of Constellation NewEnergy. He recruited the indomitable musical talents of ConnectivityWeek to perform with renowned touring and session drummer Lefty DeVito (an IBB Alum) and the local talents of the Blind Pilots (www.BlindPilots.com). Along with playing the drums, Lefty DeVito also managed the open percussion section where 50+ ConnectivityWeek attendees steeped up and expressed their musical talents on the drums, bongos and the gong. Some attendees with true musical talent picked up a guitar or sat in on drums for a few songs.
In the end the IBB represents a fun relaxing evening where the many facets of ConnectivityWeek can gather without pretence and discuss how to better collaborate to seize upon the opportunities in the market.
If you missed this IBB this year, here are a few iconic moments.
