Hi Sakhee! We have heard INBAC is putting together an outstanding industry event focused on building automation in India. We would like to know more about it.

First of all, what is INBAC?

INBAC, which stands for Integrated Building Automation Community, is a non-profit organization that drives a community of various stakeholders involved in building automation in India.  Its mission is to drive standardization within the industry by creating awareness around various building automation technologies and open communication protocols which meet the critical needs of the Indian building automation market.

The INBAC association facilitates successful use of open standards and protocols in building automation and control systems through standardization, interoperability testing, events, seminars, training programs and promotional activities on a global platform.

How is INBAC positioned in the building automation market in India?

INBAC works on the well-known fundamental of “The whole is always greater than the sum of its parts.”  The association is uniquely positioned toward developing a building automation ecosystem by bringing stakeholders together.

Stakeholders include:

Consumers: building owners, facility operators and occupants

Governments: public authorities responsible for regulations covering the affected markets

Industries: building developers, industries and industry associations

Businesses: OEMs, consultants, architects, system integrators, ISV (independent software vendors), cloud providers, academic institutions, independent testing laboratories and accrediting bodies and standardization organizations

INBAC is the neutral platform for collaboration among these groups.

So, tell me about the event that’s scheduled for October 8th.

INBAC has organized an online panel discussion on the topic “Opportunities for building automation in India.” This is the first event in an upcoming series of webinars focused on this topic.

INBAC is working in the interest of user centric building automation in India. We focus on creating brand agnostic awareness on the “What” and “How” of building automation by listening to the customer requirements closely. This webinar offers the opportunity to join a panel discussion with esteemed industry experts who have a deep understanding of India and equal global competence.

Who should join the panel discussion?

We invite all stakeholders (consumers, government, industries and businesses) in the building automation ecosystem to join the panel discussion.

The entire INBAC team, along with connections and contributions from the global community, are working together creating a new wave of collaboration and collective success for building automation stakeholders and the resulting benefits for the consumer.

What are the benefits of attending the panel discussion?

India is a consumer driven market. Everyone wants to identify, satisfy and retain customers. At the same time, customers want to have safe, healthy, and comfortable environments, and value for money solutions.

INBAC wants to bring “the need” and “the solution” together by leveraging building technology.

Stakeholders must be supported in the shift from the traditional surveillance-based approach towards the use of data analytics based on high-quality, real-time data without compromising personal privacy.

By the extensive adoption and use of international standards in the built environment, considerable savings in time, materials and money can be achieved.

The audience shall benefit from the experts’ views on the changing market scenario and evolving technology trends.

How has COVID-19 affected India and building automation?

The pandemic has changed the outlook and behavior of the entire world. Things that are affecting the building automation market and forcing innovative solutions are:

Fear of coming in close contact

More work / study from home

Spending only on absolute essentials

Forced exposure to technology

Importance of wellness

Importance of green energy

Importance of data security

This affects the ecosystem in more ways than imagined, while at the same time creates various opportunities. Such opportunities can be seized upon with collaborations on technology trends, open standards and partnerships on disruptive solutions.

How can one register for the event?

The event will be conducted via Zoom on Thursday, October 8 at the following time:

5:30 PM - 7:00 PM Indian Standard Time (IST)
