Plug and Play Tech Center is hosting its first Smart Grid@Plug and Play event on April 14, 2011 at their Sunnyvale headquarters.  (http://www.plugandplaytechcenter.com/smartgrid/) Plug and Play Tech Center is a community of 350 Tech Startups, 160 VC partners, and many corporate, university, and government partners all supporting technology entrepreneurship.  
 
This event has special significance since it also marks the kickoff of their Smart Grid Center of Excellence initiative, which will educate and promote startups in this space and offer a demo center to showcase platforms and solutions.  More details about this initiative will be provided at the event.

Audiences for Plug and Play events are typically 60% technology entrepreneurs and developers and 25% VCs, angel investors and universities.  Our distinguished speakers include Ed Cazalet, CEO of Megawatt Farms and formerly of California Independent System Operator; Glenn Lurie, President of AT&T’s Emerging Devices group in the Mobility and Consumer Markets; and Katherine Hamilton, of Quinn Gillespie and formerly Executive Director of the GridWise Alliance, along with sessions featuring Smart Grid industry thought leaders.   I am the organizer and emcee for this event.
