New certification program will
educate and equip U.S. based electrical contractors with comprehensive
energy efficiency and renewable energy offerings, solutions and products
PALATINE, Ill. – April 19, 2011 –
Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, today
announced the upcoming launch of its EcoXpert™ Program. The program is
designed to help electrical contractors grow their businesses and
increase revenue via training in installing and implementing energy
efficiency and renewable energy products and solutions. The EcoXpert
Program supports Schneider Electric’s commitment to a more sustainable
global future by providing contractors with the tools and expertise
needed to meet the growing demand for energy efficiency and renewable
sources. Additionally this new program supplies both commercial and
residential markets with reputable installers and contractors to ensure
the most optimized and comprehensive intelligent energy solutions.
The EcoXpert Program is comprised of
seven certifications under the certification paths of Energy Efficiency
and Renewable Energy. The certifications allow contractors to diversify
their businesses with new applications and increase revenue. The
EcoXpert Program helps contractors to advise, sell and install a broad
range of pre-engineered energy solutions across commercial, industrial
and high-end residential applications.
“The federal government has set
numerous goals and initiatives to encourage new clean energy standards.
This, combined with public opinion, will drastically change the way we
create, use and consume energy,” said Allen Breeze, Senior Vice
President, Power Business, Schneider Electric. “As such, Schneider
Electric is expanding both its knowledge base and offering to
accommodate the enormous need for energy management across both the
supply and demand sides of the power market. Our EcoXpert program is
helping to meet the human talent side of this equation by equipping
contractors with the competency, skill sets and solutions they need to
take advantage of this market opportunity.”
The EcoXpert Energy Efficiency
certification path offers five certifications, providing in-depth
training in the components critical to achieving comprehensive energy
management within homes and facilities – Lighting & Lighting
Controls; Power Distribution; Secure Power; HVAC Control and Energy
Monitoring. These core areas provide contractors with the requisite
competencies to:
• Use efficient lighting and lighting controls to reduce consumption and demand while providing energy savings
• Enhance returns
on system operations and efficiency improvements via applying power
factor correction and harmonic filtering solutions
• Achieve an ideal and reliable supply of power for critical power applications
• Utilize HVAC
control solutions to increase occupant comfort, lower consumption and
cut overall operating costs
• Optimize
equipment and increase reliability via energy and power management
systems, such as Schneider Electric’s Wiser™ Energy Management System
[an error occurred while processing this directive]Under the Renewable Energy
certification path, the EcoXpert Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging
certification allows contractors to capitalize on the demand for EV
charging infrastructure by enabling them to become certified EV
charging station installers. Participants receive education on
solutions which are quickest to install, easiest to use and provide
customers with a cleaner and more economical mode of
transportation.
Rounding out the Renewable Energy
certification path, the Power Generation System certification provides
contractors with the expertise needed to consult multiple market
segments on how to deliver photovoltaic, wind and other alternative
energy resources via reliable and efficient integration
solutions. As a result, contractors can optimize opportunity
within the rapidly growing market for alternative energy sources – from
which the federal government has aimed to generate 80 percent of U.S.
electricity by 2035.
The program also instills effective
communication strategies to improve sales effectiveness for each
certification, as well as provide access to customizable marketing
materials that enable contractors to improve the marketing of their
businesses and their customer relationships. Additionally, the program
provides tools to help facilitate site assessment and ROI estimates, as
well as online resources and the ability to offer extended warranties*
to customers after product installations.
The EcoXpert Program complements
Schneider Electric’s expanding EVlink™ charger portfolio – a
comprehensive line of residential and commercial charging solutions
which certified contractors will be able to provide to both residential
and fleet customers.
The first two available
certifications of the EcoXpert Program, EV Charging and Lighting &
Lighting Controls, will be available on Friday, April 22, coinciding
with Earth Day. The remaining certifications will be launched
throughout the year, and updates on new available paths and
opportunities to partner with Schneider Electric may be found at

*Extended warranty is only offered on select Schneider Electric solutions and products.
