WattNode® Meter/JACE® Platform Integration to be Demonstrated at Niagara Summit in Las Vegas

BOULDER, Colo. — April 27, 2012 — Continental Control Systems today announced the availability of free downloadable JAR files that facilitate the integration of the company's WattNode® energy and power meters with Tridium's JACE® controller/server platform for the Niagara Framework software infrastructure. In addition, the company will provide a real-time demonstration of this powerful tool at the Niagara Summit, April 29 through May 1, at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas.

To integrate diverse systems within a building, a physical connection to a device's network is required. Tridium's JACE provides this connectivity for common network protocols such as LonWorks®, BACnet®, oBIX, and Modbus® — along with many proprietary networks — in a small, compact platform. The JACE makes it possible to control and manage external devices over the Internet and present real-time information to users in Web-based graphical views.

For submetering and energy management in building automation systems utilizing JACE controllers, Continental Control Systems' WattNode meters provide seamless accessibility to electrical measurements including power, energy, voltage, current, and power factor. Designed to be the most compact and cost-effective networkable energy meters on the market, the WattNode BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and Advanced Pulse meters are line-powered and provide measurements on electrical systems up to 600 Vac and 6000 A.

"The integration of WattNode meters with Tridium's Niagara Framework and JACE opens up a wide range of exciting new energy management and energy reduction possibilities for Niagara-powered buildings," said Marc Petock, vice president of Global Marketing and Communications at Tridium. "This allows system integrators to provide added value and greater ROI for their customers through enhanced functionality."

Continental Control Systems will demonstrate the capabilities provided by the WattNode/JACE integration at Tridium's fifth biennial Niagara Summit. Bringing together integrators, end-users, consultants, manufacturers, developers, and system integrators, the Niagara Summit is the only conference focusing on the Niagara and Sedona Frameworks, the leading software platforms for integration and Internet-based control applications.

As part of the demonstration, Continental Control Systems will monitor the energy consumption of its Boulder, Colo., facility in real time using the WattNode BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and Advanced Pulse meters. With Tridium's JACE, the consumption from all four meters will be displayed on a dashboard for attendees to view.

"Tridium's JACE powered by the Niagara Framework is a very prominent solution in the building automation industry, and we couldn't be more excited to offer our precise meter readings for buildings utilizing the platform," said Cynthia A. Boyd, director of sales at Continental Control Systems. "This will be our second time exhibiting at the Niagara Summit, and we can't wait to demonstrate to visitors the powerful possibilities of WattNode electric energy and power meters when integrated with the JACE platform."

Continental Control Systems' interface plug-ins JAR files for the JACE platform are available for free download on the company's website at: http://www.ccontrolsys.com/ww/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&search=jar+files&go=Go.
