Event Connects Companies, Communities and People who are re-defining Smart and Connected Systems
CHATTANOOGA, TN-April 2, 2013-The community organizers of Haystack Connect 2013, the open forum and conference bringing together leading technology suppliers, systems integrators and forward looking end users who are leading the way to more efficient and sustainable buildings and advanced smart-device applications, today announced the keynote speakers for the upcoming conference taking place April 29-May 2 at the Chattanoogan Hotel and Conference Center, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The lineup of keynote speakers includes:
Marina Leight, Associate Publisher of GOVERNING Magazine and an active participant in The Governing Institute, an organization that provides state and local leaders with the non-partisan information, insight and intelligence needed to govern effectively. Ms. Leight’s address entitled “There’s Something Happening Here – How Cities are Applying Technology to Create Great Places to Live” is directly related to the conference host city, Chattanooga, as it is one of the only cities in the United States that has a Gigabit IP network infrastructure and an announced plan to cut energy use by 25% by 2020. Ms. Leight has great insight into their programs having worked directly with the Mayor of the City through the Institute on this endeavor.
George Hernandez, Technical Advisor with the Department of Energy. George has extensive experience in applying advanced energy management programs and is involved in the DOE’s Open EIS program. He will speak to the topic of ‘Sensors and Controls – How Smart is Smart Enough’.
Caesar Ruest of Autodesk will speak to integrating BIM (Building Information Modeling), the accepted standard used in the design and construction phase of buildings) into the operational life cycle of facilities. This is the next wave of data that is likely to be integrated into intelligent building systems.

technical programs led by recognized industry authorities and
knowledgeable experts who will be addressing some of the most important
issues and technologies facing smart buildings, smart devices and smart
business today such as Cyber Security and Threat Protection,
Visualization, Analytics, Large Scale systems, Wireless, Lighting,
Energy, Connecting to the Cloud Data Modeling and more.
