Seven patents awarded in 2010

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – August 4, 2010 – EDSA (www.edsa.com), the leading developer of power analytics solutions for the design, testing, and management of complex electrical power systems, today announced that is has been awarded five additional new patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. These bring the company’s total since March 2010 to seven patents for EDSA’s Paladin® family of software products, as the company expands its technological lead in the emerging field of Power Analytics™.

EDSA’s Paladin family of products helps organizations ensure that their electrical power infrastructure is optimally-designed (Paladin® DesignBase™), performs precisely as intended in terms of reliability and energy efficiency (Paladin® Live™), and operates flawlessly as organizations make real-time transitions between public and on-premise power sources (Paladin® SmartGrid™). By continually calibrating operating conditions with the original, as-design CAD model, the Paladin platform is the only real-time power analytics solution for diagnosing electrical power problems or energy inefficiencies at their earliest stages.

Systems and methods for real-time system monitoring and predictive analytics (Application number: 11/674994)
Systems and methods for determining protective device clearing times used for providing real-time predictions about arc flash events (Application number: 11/774396)
Systems and methods for predictive monitoring including real-time strength and security analysis in an electrical power distribution system (Application number: 11/734706)
Systems and methods for dynamic simulation of interruptible power supply solutions and their control logic systems (Application number: 11/775146)
Systems and methods for real-time device evaluation in an electrical power distribution system (Application number: 11/717378)

Systems and methods for alarm filtering and management within a real-time data acquisition and monitoring environment (Patent number: 7,693,608)
System for comparing real-time data and modeling engine data to predict arc flash events (Patent number: 7,693,608)

Information on EDSA’s growing portfolio of power analytics patents is continually updated on the company’s Web site www.edsa.com/technology.

“EDSA is very pleased to secure the patents needed to protect our intellectual property, but we are even more proud of the unique software solutions our technology is providing for our customers,” said Kevin Meagher, chief technology officer for EDSA. “Mission-critical facilities that have deployed our Paladin family of solutions are benefitting greatly from power analytics. With our patented technology, they can take full advantage of product capabilities that no one else in the marketplace can provide.”
