August 10, 2010 – FieldServer Technologies, the
leading manufacturer of building automation gateway solutions has partnered with
AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation,
maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments.
The strategic alliance allows AMX to offer fully networked, interactive control
systems for building automation, audio-visual (AV) devices and indoor
environmental quality from a single interface.
AMX will implement FieldServer’s Gateway as a bridge between AMX platforms and
protocols found in building management such as BACnet® and LonWorks® to enable
interaction with HVAC, lighting, security and fire systems.
“It is an undeniable fact that integrating building systems reduces carbon
footprints,” said Robert Noble, AMX Chief Technology Officer. “Our collaboration
with FieldServer enables building managers to synchronize intelligent building
systems, access each system faster, automate and track resources in every room
and reduce their carbon footprint.”
“Intelligent building automation is realized by having all components
interacting based on rules set for energy consumption, scheduled occupancy,
ambient light, security, and fire alarms,” commented AMX Product Manager Doug
Hall. “This new capability is made possible through the Resource Management
Suite enterprise software.”
“Together FieldServer and AMX can achieve our shared goal of making sure
building environmental systems provide the highest level of comfort for the
occupants and be the most cost-effective for building owners, said Richard
Theron, National Sales Manager of FieldServer. “With FieldServer’s extensive
building management driver library and AMX’s leading resource management
platform, we can deliver the perfect package of interoperability maximizing
energy and operational efficiencies to produce tangible and significant return
on investment.”

One of the main differentiators AMX can now offer in building management control
systems is seamless integration of building, environmental and AV systems. By
utilizing Resource Management Suite® (RMS) from AMX a user can manage, monitor
and schedule up to 1,000 rooms and 10,000 assets from a single interface. RMS
software enables IT and AV managers to remotely monitor and diagnose equipment
problems, gain centralized management of disparate systems, improve equipment
uptime, increase staff productivity and reduce energy usage.
More and more, building managers, architects and building owners are facing
requirements to construct smarter, greener facilities that promote resource
efficiency and safer, healthier environments. AMX building management solutions
provide users with best-in-class intelligent technology to meet these
initiatives while simplifying and automating the process.
