Beckhoff Automation Introduces TwinCAT HMI: Simple, Open and HTML5-based
No programming required – efficient user interface engineering integrated directly into Visual StudioŽ
SAVAGE, Minnesota, November 30, 2015 – The newly announced TwinCAT HMI system from Beckhoff Automation ushers in a paradigm shift for modern HMI software. Instead of proprietary systems for engineering and communication, and their use only on certain operating systems, Beckhoff leverages IT standards such as Microsoft Visual StudioŽ for the engineering, HTML5 for the design, and Websockets and HTTPS for secure communication.
The powerful basic architecture facilitates numerous application scenarios – from the local HMI panel solution to multi-client, multi-server and multi-runtime concepts. Individual extensions can be quickly implemented via defined interfaces, and the mix of standard graphic controls and custom design elements enables a high degree of individualization.
TwinCAT HMI highlights at a glance:
- Visual StudioŽ integration
- Separation of design and logic
- Displays in any browser, including on mobile devices
- Multi-client and multi-server architecture
- Modular expandability
