SANTA CLARA, CA February 2007 – Watt Stopper/Legrand is pleased to announce its 2007 education program developed to help architects and specifiers expand their understanding of energy codes, green building initiatives, sustainable design and related lighting control solutions. Seminar topics include LEED and lighting controls, energy codes including ASHRAE, IECC and state codes, and lighting control solutions for daylit spaces. New to the curriculum are topics such as EPACT (Energy Policy Act of 2005) and emergency lighting control. Regional seminars in cities around North America and a series of webcasts are scheduled throughout the year.

Webcasts were added in 2006 to allow more people to conveniently access this valuable information. Courses are provided that qualify for AIA/CES Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) credit and NCQLP Lighting Education Units (LEUs). Watt Stopper/Legrand is a Registered Provider with The American Institute of Architects Continuing Education Systems. Credit earned on completion of these programs will be reported to CES Records for AIA members. Certificates of Completion for non-AIA members will be available upon request.

Architects and other design professionals are invited to attend Watt Stopper/Legrand’s accredited seminars and optional non-accredited presentations and product trainings following the classes. Registration is on a first come, first served basis and is complementary. Complete course descriptions, schedules and registration information are available at www.wattstopper.com/education/. Site visitors are also invited to view a one hour online training video comparing and contrasting the lighting control requirements of ASHRAE 90.1-1999, 2001, 2004 and IECC 2003. Continuing education credits are not offered for viewing the video.
