Low Range Differential Pressure Frequency Output Sensors Eliminate the Need for Analog to Digital Converters and are Ideal for Airside Applications

Moorpark, CA – Kavlico, an operation of Schneider Electric and a global business unit of Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST), is pleased to announce the expansion of our industry leading MEMS-based P992/P993 Low Range Differential Pressure sensor family with the addition of frequency output configurations for all products. These devices are perfectly suited for a variety of HVAC applications including Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems, filter pressure monitoring, duct airflow, static pressure monitoring, gaseous leak detection, pneumatic controls, as well as medical equipment applications.

The sensors operate on a regulated 5 Vdc power supply and provide an amplified digital frequency output proportional to pressure. Output frequency varies from 1.5 Khz at null pressure to 10.5 Khz at full-scale pressure. The sensors are temperature compensated, have excellent EMI/RFI and ESD protection. Frequency Output sensor configurations allow system designers to eliminate expensive analog to digital converters, reducing component cost, PCB space and power. Available in pressure ranges of ±1” H20 through 10” H20, the sensors have NO POSITION SENSITIVITY, have low power consumption, and have superior output signal stability.

The P992 frequency output sensors join Kavlico’s portfolio of RoHS compliant products for HVAC and VAV applications and can be ordered in multiple footprints. The P993 frequency output devices are specially configured for control systems that are integrated into damper actuators and provide a compact, PCB mountable package.
