Former BACnet Chairman “BACnet Bill” Swan Addressed Successful Building Automation Strategies in ASHRAE and LEED Standards and Guidelines at 2011 AHR Expo

Redmond, WA  - Buildings Standards initiatives leader for Alerton (www.alerton.com, AHR Booth N4942) and LEED AP William “BACnet Bill” Swan discussed the increasing number of energy-efficient building automation strategies that have been incorporated into ASHRAE and LEED standards and guidelines, as well as the developing International Green Construction Code, at the AHR Expo in Las Vegas. Swan examined the various strategies presented in these standards and guidelines, and how they have been successful in the real world. This session was sponsored by BACnet International, Tuesday, February 1, 2011, in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Room N103, from 3:00–4:00 p.m. PST.

Swan has served in a variety of roles relating to ASHRAE and the BACnet standard, including serving as BACnet Committee chair. The BACnet Committee works with ASHRAE and other industry partners to develop and maintain the BACnet communications protocol. Swan will next appear at the BACnet Forum in London on April 13, 2011, the BACnet Plugfest in Germany in May, and the BACnet Forum in Rome on October 10, 2011.
