Kepware Technologies Wins 2011 Kinetic Process Innovation Award for Gerdau Ameristeel application of KEPServerEX and LinkMaster
Portland Maine, February 16, 2011 –
Kepware Technologies today announces that it has received the 2011
Kinetic Process Innovation Award for excellence in Communications for
the Automation in Manufacturing category. Now in its 14th year,
the awards program recognizes excellence in information technology and
this year is sponsored by High Tech Views, an online publication that
spotlights technology innovation.
Gerdau Ameristeel uses a variety of
PLCs across their manufacturing plants and Kepware’s KEPServerEX
communication server allows Gerdau Ameristeel to connect those PLCs to
the various MES and SCADA applications. LinkMaster was used to
bridge the gap between 3rd party OPC applications and was also used as
a data aggregator. Using both KEPServerEX and LinkMaster allowed
Gerdau Ameristeel to centralize their factory communications
efficiently and securely.
