City Facilities and Infrastructure to Receive Major Sustainability Overhaul

Atlanta, GA (PRWeb) – February 13, 2013 – BACnet followers now have another Success Story from which to reference. BACnet International Platinum member Honeywell and city officials in Port St. Lucie, Florida have kicked off a $7.1 million project to improve facilities and infrastructure to enhance the city’s sustainability. The project is expected to deliver nearly $3 million in savings, in addition to paying for itself in energy performance savings.

“It’s nice to say you’re going green, but it’s nicer to get green back,” said Port St. Lucie City Manager Greg Oravec. “We’re in the same position as other municipalities across the state and country, trying to do more with fewer resources each year. Anytime we can cut millions in unnecessary expenses, make critical improvements and return cash to the budget, it’s an absolute victory for the city and taxpayers.”

“It is encouraging to see BACnet successfully implemented to enhance sustainability,” stated Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International and Phillips Teletrol. “BACnet has great potential for effective implementation in government and public buildings.”

BACnet International has nearly 40 Success Stories – case studies that feature successful implementation of BACnet. To read the full Story on Port St. Lucie, please visit http://www.bacnetinternational.net/success/stories.php?sid=51.
