February 3, 2014 - The Continental
Automated Buildings Association is pleased to announce that its next
Intelligent Buildings & Digital Home Forum will be held April 1-3,
2014 in Washington, DC. CABA’s event, sponsored by CoR Advisors, Pella
Corporation, and Honeywell, will be held in conjunction with CoR
Advisors’ 2014 Building Energy Summit.
Program information and registration for attendees is now open online at: http://forum.caba.org and highly discounted early bird pricing and hotel rates will be in effect for a limited time.
CABA’s Intelligent Buildings & Digital Home Forum brings together
leading organizations involved in the integration of intelligent
building systems and connected home technologies. CABA estimates that
over 100 industry stakeholders will gather to discuss current trends in
the intelligent and integrated buildings and connected home sectors.
CABA’s Forum will be an opportunity to attend the organization’s
Council meetings and network with the 24 CABA Board of Directors during
the entire event. The Forum will also feature two evening networking
receptions, including one co-hosted by the CoR Advisors’2014 Building
Energy Summit at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade
Center on April 1. The majority of CABA’s Board members will be in
attendance due to a regularly scheduled Board meeting held in
conjunction with the Forum.
CABA’s main event, to be held on April 2 at the Dupont Circle Hotel,
will feature exclusive track sessions that examine the impact of Big
Data on intelligent buildings, consumer demands for privacy and trust
in connected homes, interoperability between competing standards and
protocols in commercial buildings and connected home market channels.
The event will also feature exciting intelligent building and smart
home facility tours, which will include some of the most connected
homes and large buildings open in Washington, DC.
Glen Allmendinger, President of Harbor Research, Inc. has been
confirmed as the main keynote speaker at the Intelligent Buildings
& Digital Home Forum and will speak on the Internet of Things. His
keynote address will outline how “invisible” machine-to-machine
applications will create many new automated services within smart
buildings and smart homes. Allmendinger predicts that the Internet’s
most profound potential lays in the integration of smart machines,
people and systems – and ultimately – in its ability to connect smart
sensors, devices, and ordinary products into a “digital nervous system”
that will smoothly interact with individuals and evolving information
systems.

CABA shall also hold a half-day workshop on April 3 on its recently
completed Monetization of the Connected Home landmark research study.
The study, commissioned by CABA and undertaken by IHS Electronics &
Media, provides a deep understanding of new market opportunities,
consumer demand and optimal revenue models for service providers and
vendors participating in the connected home space. IHS will moderate
the session and share research findings and market insights from the
report in detail.
"CABA will be bringing together many of the top speakers and
organizations involved in developing, marketing and selling smart home
and intelligent buildings products and services at our Forum," said
Ronald J. Zimmer, CABA President & CEO. "Attendees will profit by
learning about the latest products, services, programs and initiatives
and how to leverage their use in order to maximize profits."
