LonMark Americas Unveils New Online Career Center

Green Tech Jobs Program

January 26, 2009 – San Jose, CA – LonMark Americas, the North American affiliate of LonMark International. a non-profit, member-driven standards development and industry trade association supporting the LonWorks control-networking technologies, announces today the unveiling of a new resource center connecting industry job seekers and employers.

As President Barak Obama and the new US Government Administration take office, there have been many proposed initiatives to improve the job market and make more Green-Tech and Green-Collar jobs available for US workers. LonMark is eager to support this program and through the launch of the new career center, job seekers and employers alike can take advantage of the growing demand for qualified people in the energy efficiency, intelligent controls, and system integration markets as well as for product design engineers, system engineers, support personnel, and facility maintenance personnel to name but a few.

The comprehensive online resource center only accepts and posts résumés and jobs from within the intelligent building and control networking industry, which means easy – and instant - access to relevant job openings and qualified job seekers only.

“We need more qualified people and an easier way to find them in order to fill existing job openings in the energy efficiency, controls, and engineering market,” says Ron Bernstein, Executive Director, LonMark International. “As a non-profit association touching many companies and people worldwide, we often get asked to help find qualified people or receive résumés from individuals looking to enter this market. LonMark member and non-member companies alike can use the LonMark Career Center to reach qualified candidates. Employers can post jobs online, search for qualified candidates based on specific job criteria, and create an online résumé agent to email qualified candidates daily. They also benefit from online reporting that provides job activity statistics.

For job seekers, the career center is a free service that provides access to employers and jobs in the industry. In addition to posting résumés, job seekers can browse and view available jobs based on their criteria and save those jobs for later review if they choose. Job seekers can also create a search agent to provide email notifications of jobs that match their criteria.

LonMark will launch the career center on Monday, January 26, 2009, and hold several interactive demonstrations at the LonMark booth at the AHR Show in Chicago, January 26-28, 2009.
