World's Leading Technology Companies To Present "Energy Efficient Buildings" Seminar Series in 2009

Carlsbad, CA - January 27, 2009 - The world's leading technology companies have teamed up as national sponsors of the Realcomm 2009 Seminar Series entitled "Energy Efficient Buildings: Green Technology Solutions that Work."

The Energy Efficient Buildings Seminar is a 4-hour education session that will be presented in ten major cities in the U.S. in 2009, including Atlanta, Chicago, Washington DC, Dallas, Houston, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, San Francisco, and Seattle. Cisco, Panduit, BAE Systems, Encelium Technologies, and Talisen Technologies will be participating as national Gold sponsors to present information on the latest energy efficient technologies for buildings. Tridium, Yardi, Triacta, and CSI Wireless will be participating as national Silver sponsors.

With the volatile price of oil and increasing utility costs, building owners and operators need to incorporate intelligent building initiatives such as automated building systems, intelligent lighting networks, wireless sensors and controls, renewable sources of energy, and energy management software in order to remain competitive and profitable. This seminar brings together industry experts to discuss the latest technologies for reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions in buildings and contribute to a building's overall "green" strategy.

"Buildings use approximately 40% of the energy consumption in the U.S., so there is a tremendous opportunity for building owners to make a difference. Automating building systems and running them at maximum efficiency are some of the most important components of a 'green' building strategy," said Darlene Pope, Managing Partner at Realcomm, who is heading up the new seminar series. "We've partnered with some of the world's most knowledgeable technology companies to put together a comprehensive educational offering on energy efficient building technologies."

This seminar is a "must-attend" for owners, developers, property managers, IT directors architects, facility managers, engineers, system integrators and consultants.

"Whether its energy efficiency, occupant productivity, personal safety and comfort or operational efficiency, technologies exist today that can profoundly impact the performance of our built environment. This timely seminar series will give building owners and operators a clear sense of what can be done today," said Steve Teubner General Manager, at BAE Systems.

"In today's dynamic marketplace, developing a comprehensive intelligent building strategy is critical for real estate owners and operators," said Pope. "We are looking forward to teaming with industry leaders to share their expertise and educate real estate owners and operators about many ways an integrated building network can reduce energy consumption and provide value."
