En-Gauge chooses Lynnfield-based system specialists to deploy life safety monitoring technology throughout the Commonwealth to lower risk and manage costs

Lynnfield, MA – January 7, 2012 – J.M. Electrical Company, Inc., premier professionals in advanced automated building system installations, announced today that they have partnered with en-Gauge, the Rockland, MA-based makers of monitoring systems for fire extinguishers, medical oxygen and safety equipment, to be one of their exclusive installation and distribution partners throughout the Commonwealth. The addition of the en-Gauge agreement adds to J.M. Electrical’s offerings of advanced automated building systems.

“As leading experts in integrated building systems throughout Massachusetts, J.M. Electrical adds substantial bench strength to the en-Gauge team and is a great addition to our family,” said John McSheffrey, Jr., President of en-Gauge. “We are happy to join with J.M. Electrical’s experienced technicians to expand our solutions throughout the Commonwealth.”

With over 100 million fire extinguishers in the US commercial market that need to be inspected and documented on a 30 day basis, large facilities such as hospitals and universities can be overwhelmed with the operational challenges. en-Gauge’s patented technology allows for the electronic monitoring of portable fire extinguishers through a building’s alarm infrastructure, notifying a facility manager when a fire extinguisher is blocked, missing from its designated location or when its pressure falls below safe operating levels.

This is a perfect fit for JM Electrical’s deep experience with advanced, automated building systems and their knowledge of fire, security and energy management systems. J.M. Electrical has over 25 years of experience and expertise in the installation of advanced integrated building systems which from the beginning have been the cornerstone of the business; with the J.M. experts focusing on retrofit/performance contracting, building automation controls, instrumentation, and fire alarm/integrated security systems.

“This is an exciting partnership between J.M. Electrical and en-Gauge that will afford many new opportunities for both companies to deliver real value to current and new customers.” said Paul Guarracino, President of J.M. Electrical. “We are pleased to collaborate with a recognized leader in the fire extinguisher industry and provide this state-of-the-art life safety monitoring technology to the State of Massachusetts.”

en-Gauge fire extinguisher monitoring technology allows facilities such as hospitals, hotels, schools and universities, and municipal and government buildings to monitor their inventory through the existing alarm infrastructure. J.M. Electrical has contributed to the safety and well-being of schools, hospitals, commercial and retail buildings by designing and installing state-of-the-art fire alarm systems, and partnering with en-Gauge and their advanced technology will help bring a safer sense of security to local business and organizations while also helping them with their operational challenges.
