Leader in Enterprise Energy Management Will Showcase Solutions to Reduce Energy from the Core to the Edge
ATLANTA — Jan. 25, 2013 — JouleX, a leading innovator in
enterprise energy management systems for data centers, distributed
office environments, and facilities, today announced its schedule of
planned activities for Cisco Live London 2013, January 28 to February
1, 2013, at the ICC London ExCel. In response to the tremendous success
of the JouleX for EnergyWise solution, part of the Cisco EnergyWise
Fast-Start program, JouleX will be showcasing this technology as part
of the entire JouleX Energy Manager™ platform. JouleX will be featured
throughout the Cisco Live World of Solutions, where the JouleX Energy
Manager (JEM) platform will once again provide real-time monitoring of
the entire Cisco Live network. JouleX will also be showcased as a
featured partner with other participating vendors at the event.
“Managing energy waste and costs is becoming an increasing priority to
companies and with that our customer base continues to grow
substantially with an increasing number of highly regarded global
brands signing on each month,” said Josef Brunner, JouleX co-founder
and chief architect. “Cisco Live London provides us with an exceptional
international environment to share results other companies are
experiencing with our JouleX for EnergyWise solution. Giving attendees
the ability to see our technology at work and interact with the latest
innovative features and functions first hand is a powerful benefit.”
Last year, the JouleX Energy Manager platform was used to monitor and
report on the energy use of the entire Cisco network at Cisco Live
London 2012, an activity that garnered significant interest.
Attendees were able to see the real-time energy usage of the entire
network on large screens located in the Cisco Network Operations
Center; the Cisco EnergyWise booth, and in the company’s stand. JouleX
will again monitor this year’s Cisco Live network, giving attendees a
glimpse into how energy is actually used in their own IT
operations.
Other noteworthy JouleX activities occurring during Cisco Live London 2013 include:
• JouleX Chief Architect and Co-founder Josef Brunner
will deliver a 30-minute session (BRKGS-2510) “Reducing Energy
Consumption and Costs from the Core to the Edge with JouleX and Cisco”
on Thursday, January 31, at 11 AM.
• JouleX Chief Architect and Co-founder Josef Brunner
will deliver 10-minute sessions (CEUPOE-1001) “Lowering TCO and Energy
Costs with the JouleX for EnergyWise Fast-Start Program” on Tuesday,
January 29, at 12:45 PM and 16:05 PM; on Wednesday, January 30, at
10:40 AM and 13:05 PM; and Thursday, January 31, at 12:45 PM and 16:00
PM.
• Presentations the newest features of the JouleX
Energy Manager will occur every 30 minutes at the JouleX Gold
Exhibitors Stand, G2, in the World of Solutions.
• JouleX will also be demonstrating in the EnergyWise
and UPoE Pavilion at stand EW1, showcasing how JEM provides a powerful
dashboard for managing energy, leveraging EnergyWise to reduce energy
across a campus environment.
• JouleX will also be on display in the World of
Solutions with partners Schneider Electric (stand P6), CommScope (stand
G16) and Raritan (stand EW5).

JouleX leverages the Cisco EnergyWise architecture to extend energy
monitoring and management from the network core to the edge—taking
energy management beyond the switch ports and traditional PCs, to the
entire IT infrastructure and data centers. JouleX supports Cisco
advanced features such as a deep-sleep VoIP function, power leveling
and capping for the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), and support
for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Plus and Virtual Desktop infrastructure.
It also provides monitoring, analysis and control for all Cisco
EnergyWise-enabled devices and systems—with no client-side agents or
hardware meters required.
The JouleX for EnergyWise solution is currently available on the Cisco
global pricelist as part of the EnergyWise Fast-Start program, a free
option with the purchase of Cisco Catalyst 3K and 4K switches. This
version of the JouleX Energy Manager leverages the Cisco EnergyWise
protocol to provide full monitoring, analysis, and control of the
energy consumption and utilization of the Cisco EnergyWise
infrastructure from switches and routers to wireless access points to
Voice over IP (VoIP) telephones. Since its introduction in September,
the program more than 3200 orders for JouleX Energy Manager.
