(DENT Instruments, Bend, OR) – DENT Instruments, a global leader in the design and manufacture of power and energy measurement instruments, today announced their Joint Development agreement with Setra Systems, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of sensors and display monitors for HVAC and building automation systems. DENT and Setra will continue their collaboration on a series of Joint Development projects that will help tackle some of the challenges faced by their served customer base. The Joint Development agreement brings together two leading manufacturers of building automation sensors to expand the market and help customers address the challenges of energy management.

Christopher DENT, President of DENT Instruments, said, “We are pleased to be working with Setra to develop state-of-the-art instrumentation that meets the energy measurement and management needs of our customers. Setra is a global leader in building sensor technology with a dominant position in the industry. We intend to leverage the technical strengths of both our respective companies to deliver new products that are both innovative and cost-effective.”

The Joint Development is part of Setra’s strategy to expand their energy management solutions offering to their current customer base. The project will leverage the technical, engineering, and commercial expertise of the two companies to identify opportunities to innovate and provide solutions for the industry’s greatest challenges. “Setra is excited to work with DENT to develop innovative solutions which help our customers reduce their energy consumption and become more efficient,” says David Carr, General Manager of Setra. “Roughly 65% of the world’s energy is consumed in buildings, so this is a great opportunity to leverage each company’s strengths to provide solutions to energy management issues of today and tomorrow.”
