The Building will feature the award-winning Smart Room Control solution

Distech Controls, an innovation leader in energy management solutions, has signed a contract for the supply of the HVAC system in the new Tribunal de Grande Instance in Paris. Surrounded by its integration partner Assystem and other project stakeholders at the Centre Culturel Canadien in Paris, the signing event symbolised the synergies between Assystem’s expertise and Distech Controls’ innovative solutions.

The design of the court house was executed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop. The main building is 40 storeys high, and is divided into three distinct levels of 160 meters in height, while a second building is eight storeys tall. The court house will be equipped with 5 500 m2 in waiting rooms, 90 courtrooms and 30 000 m2 of office space. It will feature an exceptional architectural design, as well as cutting edge products and solutions to deliver energy savings and occupant comfort

To best meet the requirements of the project, Distech Controls’ Smart Room Control solution, a unified system for the control of HVAC room terminal equipment, lighting, and shades/sunblind, will be installed throughout the building. It enables the highest levels of comfort for occupants while increasing operating cost savings, from installation time and wiring/material requirements to energy consumption.

One of the unique features of this solution is that it can easily adapt, or be adjusted by, users. Room occupancy is detected by the EC-Multi-Sensor, which combines a motion detector, a light sensor, a temperature sensor, and an infrared receiver in a single compact device. The EC-Smart-Vue, part of the Allure™ series of communicating sensors, provides advanced control through integrated temperature, humidity, CO2and motion sensors. It also features the ECO-Vue leaf pattern, indicating energy consumption in real time on an LCD display.

The new court house will set the standard for energy effiency in tall buildings, with low energy consumption of 70 kWhep/mē/year.

With more than 25 years of experience in the building automation industry, the Assystem teams have built up strong knowledge of design, conception and system integration to offer an intelligent, global solution for the new court house in Paris.
