Group will also Deliver Pair of Presentations
(Washington, D.C. January 17, 2020) – The Energy Management Association (EMA)
will exhibit at AHR Expo 2020, the world’s largest HVACR marketplace,
in booth 6253, collocated with its affiliated associations, the AABC Commissioning Group and Associated Air Balance Council.
Highlights of EMA’s appearance include a presentation led by EMA President Robert Knoedler, P.E., CxA, EMP (Hanson Professional Services, Inc.), Essential Techniques & Calculations for Energy Managers & Commissioning Authorities. This seminar provides energy and facility managers and commissioning (Cx) personnel a review of the calculations, formulas and unit conversions needed for ASHRAE level audits and Cx activities. The following day, EMA Executive Director Edward Armstrong offers, The Authorities in Certification, a presentation describing how ACG, AABC and EMA are responding to marketplace challenges and opportunities by realigning training and services to provide a model that reflects the synergies available among their respective missions of Cx, testing,adjusting & balancing and energy management. EMA is a co-presenter of CxEnergy 2020 the only conference and expo dedicated exclusively to Cx and energy management (April 6-9, San Diego, CA). Attendees of the Technical Program earn continuing education credits for presentations covering Cx and energy management, updates of key standards (e.g. ASHRAE 90.1 and California Title 24), and topics such as cybersecurity for energy managers. New this year is HyperScale Data Center Commissioning and Construction, a 2-hour session bringing together experts from industry heavyweights like Google, Facebook and Microsoft with Cx providers and contractors for a lively discussion on commissioning facilities. Also new this year, inpartnership with the Uptime Institute, a full-day seminar entitled Introduction Mission Critical Environments.

CxEnergy’s Expo Hall showcases a variety of products including controls, software, instruments, metering devices and services targeted specifically to Cx, energy management, engineering and testing firms. The event featuresnetworking activities such as EMA’s CxEnergy Open Golf Tournament at the nearby Steele Canyon Golf Course.

is dedicated to providing education, training and certification to
energy management professionals on behalf of building owners. EMA’s Energy Management Professional (EMP) certification program recognizes competence and promotes continual professional development among energy management professionals. The EMP program is ANSI-accredited, and recognized by the DOE Better BuildingsŪ Workforce.
