JOHNSON CONTROLS CELEBRATES 30 YEARS IN MEXICO

MILWAUKEE —June 15, 2000 —Johnson Controls, Inc. recently celebrated 30 years of high standard quality in products, design, facilities, operation and maintenance in Mexico with a customer appreciation event at the Museum de Niño in Mexico City. The event marked the long-term commitment of Johnson Controls to Latin America and global markets.

Johnson Controls began its operation in Mexico in 1970 with six employees, selling only pneumatic and electromechanical products for HVAC systems. In 1982, the company began producing humidifiers, and sold its first security system in 1987. The Metasys® Building Automation System was introduced to the Mexican market in 1990 to mark the beginning of a decade of innovation. The last decade has been marked with extreme growth as integration and centralized controls have grown the business.

JOHNSON CONTROLS NOW OFFERS HVAC NETWORKING WITH NEW METASYS® N30, M-TOOL COMBINATION

MILWAUKEE – (June 2, 2000) –Smaller facilities can now achieve a low-cost, easy-to-install HVAC networking option by combining the Metasys® N30 supervisory controller with the M-Tool programming software tool from Johnson Controls, Inc.

The N30 is designed to operate HVAC equipment at peak efficiency while maintaining maximum occupant comfort. M-Tool, meanwhile, is a comprehensive software package used to program the N30. In conjunction with the M3 Graphic user interface, the N30 and M-Tool create a powerful automation system.

Multiple N30s can be networked using existing Ethernet networks enabling the supervisory controller to grow with the facility. Each N30 is designed to supervise a dedicated network of N2 Application Specific controllers that operate the valves and airflow in a building automation system.

The N30’s built-in energy management features, which include demand limiting and load rolling, can improve a facility’s cost efficiency. Demand limiting sheds and restores outputs on a rotating basis to prevent energy demand from exceeding defined limits. The load rolling feature cycles equipment on and off to manage total electrical power consumption.

The M-Tool’s intuitive interfaces make programming the N-30 easy and user- friendly. Defining input/output point assignments, algorithms and operating parameters is as simple as responding to a series of “yes-no” and multiple choice questions.
