Redmond, WA (July 24, 2008)—Building automation systems pioneer Alerton (www.alerton.com) today debuted its VLX-PLATINUM controller, which meets the ever increasing need for more memory and speed in building automation systems. The VLX-PLATINUM offers more than triple the memory of the current VLX controller to accommodate more BACnet objects such as alarms, schedules and trendlogs as well as more room for DDC programming. With increased processor performance, this controller also offers significantly improved execution speed.
“Users can take full advantage of the input/output capacity in the VLX-PLATINUM because it enables more complex strategies,” said Mark Behar, Alerton’s product manager. “This makes it ideal for applications like data centers and large central plants, or for customers who desire future expansion capability.”
The VLX PLATINUM features more than triple the memory—76MB—of Alerton’s current VLX controller, which has 20MB of memory. This enables users to use more BACnet objects such as alarms, schedules and trendlogs, and DDC.
The increased processor performance of the VLX-PLATINUM also speeds up program execution: Field tests have shown speeds of up to seven times faster. This enables the VLC-PLATINUM to gather data at maximum speeds.

Alerton’s VLX-PLATINUM controller is available now through authorized dealers. For product ordering and technical information, contact your local Alerton dealer.
