Tom Chmielewski and David Costilow Named Vice Presidents, Sales and Customer Services, Respectively; Recent $3.9 Million Investment Further Fueling uControl Momentum

As the company nears its fifth anniversary, it is experiencing momentum across all business fronts. The addition of talent like Chmielewski and Costilow, and the hiring of others, will ultimately double the current uControl staff. The company is currently doubling its office space to house this new talent.

uControl also recently brought in another $3.9 Million funding, and will close this current investment round at $9 Million total. Since inception, uControl’s funding has always been private, angels, customers and partners, never traditional VCs or institutional funding, and that continues with this current round.

Financial infusion from partners and customers, as well as signed deals, is a great sign of the market viability of uControl, proof that its Home Security, Monitoring and Automation (SMA) Platform fills a big need today, and tomorrow, in all things digital home. uControl has recently announced new cable company customers such as Comporium, Massillion and NewWave. And partners like Ember and SMC Networks are very aggressive and public about their work with uControl.

Tom Chmielewski, as uControl’s Vice President, Sales, brings years of experience helping high growth companies expand their businesses with broadband service providers. Especially relevant to uControl is Chmielewski’s previous experience with Radialpoint, where he was VP Worldwide Sales and Services, tripling their customer base in the US and Europe, and growing recurring revenues. Chmielewski also leverages experience with CTAM where he was a founding member of the Europe chapter. He also held executive roles at BroadJump, through its acquisition by Motive, and most recently with Rackspace.

David Costilow joins uControl as Vice President, Customer Services, with nearly 20 years of technology and services experience, bringing an established track record of developing, delivering and supporting solutions that create measurable business value for his customers. Prior to joining uControl, Costilow held various executive and management roles at leading technology companies including Motive, AlterPoint, Oracle, Coopers & Lybrand, and most recently 2Wire where he managed the Solution Services team.
