Redmond, WA (July 20, 2010)—Building automation pioneer Alerton (www.alerton.com) today welcomed Mark Walters as its new senior strategic marketing manager. Walters is primarily responsible for leading and delivering strategic marketing activities around Alerton’s industry-leading products, including the pioneering native BACnet®-based Envision for BACtalk product line. Walters has more than seven years’ experience in commercial and residential lighting control, wireless mesh networking and product development. Walters will be based at Alerton headquarters in Redmond.

“Mark’s diverse expertise in a variety of industries enhances our own goals in bringing customers the best products and services for their buildings,” said Alex Radovan, Alerton’s general manager. “His knowledge and experience at numerous levels will benefit Alerton and its local service providers as we collectively support our end users.”

Prior to joining Alerton, Walters was with Encelium Lighting Controls selling commercial lighting control solutions to the building automation and end user markets. Before Encelium, Walters served as the vice president of the Z-Wave Alliance, a manufacturers group that supplies wireless mesh networking solutions to residential and light commercial automation markets.

[an error occurred while processing this directive] Walters has held positions in operations, engineering and business development in various markets including residential and commercial automation, heavy vehicle control and consumer electronics. He holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in biology and chemistry, and a master’s of business administration in international business. In his spare time, Walters is an active Boy Scout den leader and an assistant scout master, and enjoys automotive restoration, go-kart racing, kayaking and mountain biking.
