Schneider Electric Acquires Viconics Electronics of Canada

Transaction expands and strengthens Schneider Electric’s energy management leadership position

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass., USA – June 23, 2011 – Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, has acquired the assets and daily operations of Viconics Electronics Inc. of Quebec, Canada.

For 30 years Viconics has been an industry leader in electronic controls for building automation and energy management. Its focus on factory-programmed, field-configurable, stand-alone and networked communicating wall-mounted temperature controllers has set the standard in the industry and driven results for customers. The products include network-ready solutions using BACnet®, Lontalk® and Wireless Zigbee® communications, as well as power controls for electric heat, sensors, and controllers for humidity. The products are designed for ease of installation and commissioning, optimized energy savings, and improved occupant comfort.
