OpenADR Alliance Selects Intertek and QualityLogic for Product Compliance Testing and Test Tool Development

Hill, CA, July 12, 2011: The OpenADR Alliance, a nonprofit corporation
created to foster the development, adoption and compliance of a Smart
Grid standard known as Open Automated Demand Response (OpenADR)
announced today that it selected QualityLogic Inc. to develop a
conformance and interoperability test tools and Intertek Group PLC to
provide testing and certification services for OpenADR compliant
products. The selection follows competitive process through a recent
Request for Proposals (RFP) process seeking companies to bid on the
supply of test tools and testing and certification services.
QualityLogic was selected to develop
a test tool allowing the company to become the independent test tool
vendor for OpenADR 2.0 compliant products. Headquartered in Moorpark,
California, QualityLogic was founded in 1986 to help the fledgling
desktop printer industry achieve interoperability goals by providing
rigorous test solutions for page description languages. During the past
25 years, QualityLogic has developed numerous test solutions for the
consumer electronics and telecom industries and in 2009 was named the
testing partner for the largest smart grid demonstration project in the
US. QualityLogic is also an active participant in the Smart Grid
Interoperability Panel Testing and Certification Committee and the
OpenSG Conformity Work Group.
Intertek was selected as the
exclusive testing and certification partner, providing conformance and
interoperability testing and certification for OpenADR 2.0 compliant
products. Intertek is a leading provider of quality and safety
solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world. The
company supports end-to-end Smart Grid testing, certification and
consulting services for safety, compliance, and interoperability.
Intertek's Smart Grid solutions cover power generation (fossil, nuclear
and renewables), transmission and distribution, systems operations
(ISO/RTO), field area networks, home area networks, smart meters,
electric vehicles, consumer appliances, commercial building
technologies and more.

(OASIS), North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB), Utilities
