Uses BACnet to Operate With 50% Less Energy
The Reliable Controls Headquarters Annex is an example of the success
that can be found when an organization commits themselves to the
implementation of BACnet.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 02, 2014 - The Reliable Controls Headquarters Annex is the most recent success
story to provide inspiration to the BACnet community. Reliable
Controls, a BACnet International Gold Member, designed their
headquarters to be a naturally ventilated LEED Platinum targeted
facility that operates using 50% less energy than the ASHRAE 90.1(1999)
standard.
Within the facility, BACnet integration of the HVAC, lighting, and
security systems allows occupied comfort settings to be enabled on a
per occupant basis, triggered by unique security cards. Individual
control of temperature, light, blinds, and occupancy is provided via
LAN or wireless access from any computer or mobile device.
“The adoption of BACnet provides users with the capabilities to reduce
energy costs within their facilities,” said Andy McMillan, President
and Managing Director of BACnet International. “The Reliable Controls
Headquarters Annex is an example of the success that can be found when
an organization commits themselves to the implementation of BACnet.”
BACnet International has nearly 60 success stories – case studies that
feature successful implementation of BACnet. To read the full Story on

About BACnet International
BACnet International is an industry association that facilitates the
successful use of the BACnet protocol in building automation and
control systems through interoperability testing, educational programs
and promotional activities. BACnet International oversees operation of
the BACnet Testing Labs (BTL) and maintains a global listing of tested
products. The BACnet standard was developed by the American Society of
Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and has
been made publicly available so that manufacturers can create
interoperable systems of products. BACnet International complements the
work of the ASHRAE standards committee and BACnet-related interest
groups around the world. BACnet International members include building
owners, consulting engineers and facility managers, as well as
companies involved in the design, manufacturing, installation,
commissioning and maintenance of control equipment that uses BACnet for
communication. For more information, please visit http://www.bacnetinternational.org.
