Portland, ME, June 8, 2009 – Kepware Technologies, the leader in Communications for Automation, announced today that it has been awarded the prestigious “Governor’s Award for Technology Company of the Year”, by the Technology Association of Maine (TechMaine). The announcement was made at the 2009 Technology Awards Gala held in Portland, Maine.

This award is presented to an outstanding company that, beyond offering a specific innovation or achievement, contributes significantly to Maine’s reputation as a cutting-edge technology state. The winner demonstrates strength in products and / or services, company financial strength, and overall success. Key considerations are long-term growth, profitability and sustainability, impact on the industry and market; and accomplishments as an outstanding corporate citizen.

"We are extremely proud to have been chosen for this award," says Corson (Corky) Ellis, President and Founder of Kepware Technologies. "Our company is now the world leader in communication solutions for automation and every one of our customers knows that this technology is born and bred in Maine. We have developed a reputation for performance, quality and reliability. We are proud to be developing this product in Maine and it is our goal to continue doing so, and to help facilitate the development of Maine as a software technology state."

"Kepware had some formidable competition," explains Joe Kumiszcza, Executive Director of the Technology Association of Maine. “In addition to an excellent technology base, Kepware has a success in their field that no other company could match. Kepware’s list of partners, along with their list of end customers, would impress anyone. While the competition was significant, the final decision was easy.”
