HOBOlink Web Services API enables integration of energy and environmental data into custom software applications

BOURNE, MA, June 27, 2011 — Onset (http://www.onsetcomp.com), the world’s leading supplier of data loggers, today announced the HOBOlink® Web Services API, an application programming interface that enables organizations to easily integrate energy and environmental data from Onset HOBOlink web servers with custom software applications.

The HOBOlink Web Services API will be utilized by a range of users, from building energy dashboard suppliers to developers looking to embed real-time weather data from Onset HOBO® U30 monitoring systems into web-based portals.

“Our goal with HOBOlink Web Services is to provide customers with greater flexibility in how they view and work with data collected by HOBO U30 Remote Monitoring Systems,” said Varun Taware, Onset product marketing specialist. “This API will enhance users’ experience with our systems through seamless data integration with any software specific to their domain/application.”

The HOBOlink Web Services API supports the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Representational State Transfer (REST) architecture. Data can be fetched through the web services either in CSV format or SensorML (Sensor Model Language) format, depending upon the type of web service chosen by the user.
