DALLAS
– June 27, 2011 – Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy
management, today announced the release of the Square D™ PowerLogic™
EM4800 multi-circuit energy meter, an evolution of the existing
PowerLogic E4800.
While continuing to provide a
cost-effective and highly flexible revenue-grade submetering platform
for new or existing facilities, the new PowerLogic EM4800 multi-circuit
energy meter now enables multi-tenant residential and commercial
building managers to consistently meter individual tenants at a low
installation cost-per-point by combining revenue-accurate electricity
submetering with advanced communications technology. In addition, the
PowerLogic EM4800 now operates over a larger voltage range, allowing
for direct metering of 480Y/277 Vac services without the need for a
potential transformer (PT), resulting in a significant decrease in
overall product cost. A new remote display increases the installation
options for the meter, further increasing opportunities for cost
savings.

condominiums and shopping centers, the high-density design of the
PowerLogic EM4800 multi-circuit energy meter enables metering of up to
24 individual circuits, and can be applied in a wide variety of new and
existing retrofit submetering applications. With the PowerLogic
EM4800’s flexible design, facility owners can easily retrofit their
existing systems to a stand-alone multi-point metering system
integrated into a panel board. The new PowerLogic EM4800 multi-circuit
energy meter is also in compliance with ANSI and IEC accuracy
standards, and automatically pushes interval energy data over an
existing Ethernet or phone network to on-site or web-hosted
applications allowing for easy bill preparation, energy analysis and
data export to third-party billing services.
