Continues to Develop Technology to Meet the Demands of the Lighting Control Industry

Atlanta, GA (PRWeb) – June 28, 2013 -- Gentec Inc., a designer and producer of custom solutions in the electrical power, data acquisition, signal processing and power management fields, recently joined BACnet International as part of their work integrating one of their new products. Gentec recently launched its new Kameleon® K6-Series BACnet IP Low Voltage Lighting controller, the KC-600. “With its on board astronomical time-clock and controlling up to 64 outs and 66 inputs in one panel. The KC-600 comes with a fully configurable programming console, which allows BMS integrators to commission a lighting control system rapidly,” stated Ashley Watson, Development Affairs Director at Gentec. “With the new lighting control object, Gentec will continue to develop its BACnet technology to meet the growing demand of the lighting control industry.”

As a silver member, Gentec joins over 80 of the leading building automation vendors in the world in pursuing advancement of BACnet as a communication protocol.

“BACnet International encourages the successful use of BACnet in building automation and control systems,” stated Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International and Phillips Teletrol. “We are pleased to have Gentec join us in achieving this goal.”

About BACnet International

BACnet International is an industry association that facilitates the successful use of the BACnet protocol in building automation and control systems through interoperability testing, educational programs and promotional activities. The BACnet standard was developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and has been made publicly available so that manufacturers can create interoperable systems of products. BACnet International complements the work of the ASHRAE standards committee and BACnet-related interest groups around the world. BACnet International members include building owners, consulting engineers and facility managers, as well as companies involved in the design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of control equipment that uses BACnet for communication.
