As Wi-Fi networks are becoming more prevalent throughout the built environment, Building Clouds now offers a small footprint energy management system controller which can automatically connect to and take advantage of those networks. The strati-fi™ controllers come in two models. The strati-fi22 has two inputs and two outputs. The strati-fi40 has four inputs. Both models offer a Modbus gateway and the ability to connect to Bluetooth® smart sensors.

Using a unique “phone home” technology, strati-fi controllers connect to on premise or cloud based servers which are waiting for their communication signals. Once connected, two-way communication will continue per user defined parameters. Energy efficiency and maintenance goals are defined through a simple web based interface and tracked by the Opendiem™ server. Any deviations can be annunciated in real time via email or text message, or can be automatically corrected by the control system.

Strati-fi controllers are designed to serve light commercial, scholastic, or small office energy management applications. When combined with other strati-fi controllers or existing energy management systems, the solution can scale to the enterprise level.

Rick Costanza, Vice President of Operations for Energy ETC in California, comments “strati-fi products allow Energy ETC to quickly and affordably build energy management systems for our clients. Getting access to the data our customers need is simple and fast.”

Building Clouds offers open hardware solutions compatible with their Opendiem Software Energy Management Suite. Customers can choose Modbus, BACnet, or LonWorks controllers with pre-programmed applications for HVAC, industrial processes, energy management, lighting systems, and more designed to work with industry standard I/O devices for monitoring and control.
