Distech Controls’ IP-based solution awarded by BUILDINGS Magazine
[Brossard, QC, June 9, 2015] - Distech Controls, an innovation leader
in energy management solutions, today announced that the company’s
ECLYPSE™ Connected System Controller, with embedded ENVYSION, has been
selected by BUILDINGS Magazine as a 2015 Money-Saving Product winner.
This annual competition highlights budget-friendly solutions that make
life easier for facilities managers and building owners.
Distech Controls’ ECLYPSE Connected System Controller, part of the
Connected IP and Wi-Fi Product Series, is an HVAC controller providing
BACnet/IP, wired and wireless IP connectivity. Embedded with ENVYSION,
it also delivers the art and science of actionable visual knowledge and
a powerful user experience.
Released in December 2014, the ECLYPSE Connected System Controller was
recognized by BUILDINGS Magazine based on its ability to support
commercial buildings and offer cost savings to facility managers. By
converging a building’s IT infrastructure with its building automation
system, they are able to reduce operational costs as they are no longer
required to manage multiple networks.
This solution uses standard Internet and web-based services for data
communication, allowing facility managers and building owners to
leverage their existing IT infrastructure, efficiently exchange data,
and migrate multiple communication services into a single application.
These cost savings are further enhanced given that ECLYPSE is
implemented without the use of gateways/middle-ware.
Furthermore, ECLYPSE’s ability to deliver wired IP, Wi-Fi, or a
combination of both, allows it to be implemented to best suit a
building’s infrastructure, architecture and layouts, minimizing both
impact on the building’s envelope and affiliated installation costs. In
addition, utilizing their web connection (offsite), direct IP
connection or Wi-Fi Hotspot (onsite), facility managers can easily
connect to their controllers and systems, using a PC or mobile device.
The monitoring and control capabilities of facility managers are also
enhanced, allowing them to achieve further operational cost savings by
maintaining optimum conditions. ENVYSION simplifies complex information
into graphical elements that allow facility managers to quickly detect
issues, assess cost-effectiveness and take proper actions to optimize
resource efficiency.
This IP-based solution was also selected as a 2015 Money-Saving Product
winner due to its ability to improve responsiveness to occupants and
tenants. Given ENVYSION’s fully web-based nature and responsive design
capabilities, its key information can be accessed by facility managers
and building owners from anywhere, at any time, and on any device,
ensuring a timely response to occupants and subsequent time and cost
savings.
“We are honored to be recognized by BUILDINGS Magazine,” said Etienne
Veilleux, President and CEO of Distech Controls. “In developing our
latest technologies, Distech Controls focuses on offering solutions
that not only boast extraordinary capabilities, but that can facilitate
the lives of users by dissolving into their everyday activities. The
convergence and unparalleled connectivity of ECLYPSE achieves just
that, and we are thrilled that it has subsequently been selected as
this year’s Money Saving Product,” Veilleux added.
