The new version of Softing's dataFEED OPC Suite supports the direct import of symbols/tag names from Siemens TIA Portal projects.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (PRWEB) – June 9, 2015 – The new dataFEED Exporter tool, part of Softing's dataFeed OPC Suite (V 4.03), allows importing symbols/tag names from Siemens TIA Portal projects (version 13 or 13 SP1) and to directly create the according OPC Items. OPC Client applications may use the tag names to read and write data points or data blocks. This approach avoids the time-consuming manual configuration of data items and results in significant time and cost savings for the user. The dataFEED Exporter supports the Siemens controller types SIMATIC S7-300, -400, -1200 and -1500.

Softing‘s dataFEED OPC Suite combines OPC Server and OPC Middleware functionality into one compact software solution. The integrated OPC UA Server allows the simple integration of legacy and new controllers. Components without OPC UA Server, such as Siemens S5 controller, can be easily integrated into OPC UA Client applications. The graphical user interface is designed to make it easy for plant manufacturers and maintenance engineers to quickly configure OPC communications. The highly scalable dataFEED OPC Suite allows users to choose only those components necessary for each application.
