BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., Mar. 28, 2006 – Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. has improved their line of SED2 Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) that save energy in commercial and industrial building applications by reducing power consumption to electric pumps and fan motors.
Quality enhancements to the SED2 drive family provide increased drive robustness and reliability. A number of software and hardware changes have been made to simplify programming, start-up and operation.
Hardware improvements include increased strength of internal components and connections, a protective coating on internal circuit boards, and a new type RS-485 protective circuit for improved communication reliability.
Software features have been added that automatically restart the drive after a main power failure or fault condition. Reliability is assured with an enhanced warranty program. SED2 drives are available in a wide power range: 208-230V, 480V, 575V; and 1 to 125 HP.
