San Diego, CA – March 28, 2006 – Richards-Zeta (RZ) is pleased to announce that the company’s IP-centric Building Automation System (BAS) integration solutions platform was presented to member partners attending the annual Cisco Partner Summit held in San Diego March 13-16, 2006.
The Partner Summit draws between 3,500 and 4,000 Cisco Channel and Technology Development Partners from around the world to attend this near week-long event aimed at unveiling new Cisco products, solutions and programs, while unveiling new partner relationships that can deliver new value-added client solutions. The theme of this year’s summit was the "EDGE", intended to educate the partners about Cisco Connected Real Estate (CCRE) being on “The Cutting EDGE of Technology” solutions. While the attending partners were familiar with and interested in the current Cisco IP technologies (wireless, IP Communications and security) for workplaces and multi-tenant offices, many were very interested in how BAS integration over the same network could provide new business opportunities for their clients.
RZ’s contribution to this year’s event was the demonstration of an integrated buildings platform that bridges the gap and long-standing problem in the building controls industry of connecting multiple disparate systems using other ‘open’ protocols such as BACnet and LonWorks, as well as many proprietary protocols from multiple manufacturers. In the past this mismatch of protocols has created an ever widening gap between the aggregation of other IT data required in businesses today, a concept Cisco pioneered, and the ability to effectively manage the real estate assets of all companies globally.
[an error occurred while processing this directive] Continuing with the Cisco, Panduit and RZ (CPRZ) partnership established between the companies to deliver a broad range of IP solution to the market, Panduit and RZ were uniquely featured amongst a select few partners whose products and solutions are complimentary to Cisco’s business and market focus.
As enterprise-wide clients look to further improve and manage the significant assets comprised of their portfolio of buildings, they look to leverage the considerable investment placed in the installed IP network, and for all applications to work harmoniously together with a sharing of data no longer desirable, but an essential element of their core business. Leveraging the installed IP network for many clients has been and continues to be a simple process; leveraging the installed BAS and building systems however has until recently remained elusive, often impractical and cost ineffective. Richards-Zeta’s IP-centric integration platform makes this connectivity not only possible, but practical and financially feasible. RZ’s OMEGA solution delivers IP connectivity, unifying disparate and legacy building systems onto and across a client’s network, solutions that Cisco’s partners are now able to offer their clients.
