IRVINE, Calif., March 21, 2006 – Lantronix, Inc. (Nasdaq: LTRX), a leader in industrial device networking, today unveiled a next generation solution for the industrial and building automation markets - the XPress DR+™ industrial device server. As the number of connected factory and building systems explodes, the new XPress DR+ was designed to simplify and reduce the cost of connecting equipment to the network. New features like SwitchPort+ minimize the need for expensive hubs and cabling and also make it possible to connect previously out-of-reach machines. A more powerful core processing platform and ruggedized specs deliver the reliability needed to connect PLCs (programmable logic controllers), robots, process control equipment, temperature monitoring systems or virtually any equipment from anywhere via the network or the Internet.
Most factory and building environments were not designed with network connectivity in mind, making it difficult and expensive to later add networking infrastructure. SwitchPort+ converges Ethernet switch technology with Lantronix device networking technology, effectively extending the network, often without additional infrastructure. The result is a lower total cost of ownership by reducing equipment, cabling and installation expenses.

The XPress DR+ supports two serial ports and two 10/100 Ethernet ports in a rugged Din-rail case. It offers increased operational temperature and increased protection and Ethernet isolation providing the needed safeguard for such harsh environments.
XPress DR+ will be available worldwide through Lantronix resellers and partners April 2006. For more information on Lantronix XPress DR+, please visit: http://www.lantronix.com/device-networking/external-device-servers/.
