The Inaugural HomeConn welcomes HomePlug Members to Santa Clara
DALLAS, TEXAS—March 11th, 2008 — Clasma Events Inc., and the HomePlug® Powerline Alliance are pleased to announce the signing of a MOU for the upcoming HomeConn 2008 event – being held as part of ConnectivityWeek Santa Clara, CA. – May 20th-22nd. This inaugural event is targeted at energy and the theme for the conference is “Empowering The Energy Revolution”.
HomeConn is an expo and conference focused on the emergence of a connected smart home, enabling energy management, renewable energy sources and the future digital home.
The HomePlug alliance is comprised of more than 75 industry leaders that create and promote the use standards-based technologies for sending data (including high-definition video, audio, command and control, and broadband communications) over the largest wired network in the world: the electrical power lines.
Rob Ranck, Executive Director of the HomePlug Alliance said, “HomeConn 2008 and ConnectivityWeek have a number of industry events under one roof at one time. HomePlug technology is directly applicable to a broad swath of industries including multimedia in-home networking, internet sharing, to-the-home broadband communications, and on-the-grid “green power” smart-grid systems. By covering all these topics, ConnectivityWeek presents an obvious cross-pollination benefit for both conference attendees and our membership.”

“We are very excited about this years event, all the pieces are coming together to give the conference attendees a complete picture of what the energy revolution is all about”, said Anto Budiardjo, CEO Clasma Events Inc., “and the endorsement of HomeConn by the HomePlug alliance is another step forward in bringing the message to the wider audience, which is what ConnectivityWeek is designed to achieve.”
