Encelium Technologies' IP Phone Interface Offers
Greater Personal Control via Telephone Touch-Screen Display
TEANECK, N.J., Mar. 17, 2010 - Encelium Technologies, an innovative leader in
energy management and lighting control systems, has introduced the IP Phone
Interface (IPI), which allows users to access personal lighting control features
via a Cisco IP phone touch-screen display. Offering the same benefits and
functionality associated with the company's revolutionary Energy Control
SystemTM (ECS), IPI is ideal for office environments where occupants are not
assigned permanent workstations or where workspace assignments change
frequently. IPI is an excellent lighting control option for boardrooms or other
office spaces where a PC is not available.
"IPI gives each individual total control and flexibility over lighting levels at
his or her personal workstation through the phone," said Tony Marano, president
and CEO of Encelium. "It also is quite versatile in that IPI can be transferred
to other areas, such as a boardroom or auditorium, by simply relocating an
IP-enabled Cisco IP phone, logging into the IPI service and entering a new IPI
activation key."
ECS is the most advanced lighting control solution for commercial buildings on
the market. The intelligent lighting building system, which typically meets or
exceeds today's sustainable requirements for new or existing office buildings,
is designed to reduce lighting-related energy costs by 50 to 75 percent. ECS
also contributes between 12 to 18 points toward achieving the coveted U.S. Green
Building Council's Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED).
The new IPI is fully configurable through Encelium's Polaris software. By
permitting users to save or recall preset lighting scenes, desired light levels
can be easily accessed to meet each user's personal lighting preferences. Scenes
also can be renamed, reorganized or deleted through the IPI interface.

Technical highlights include:
Encelium's SSU hosts the IPI web service, accessible by the Cisco network via a LAN connection to the Encelium ECU or SSU.
The URL of the IPI web service is registered in Cisco Unified Communication Manager or Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express via standard Cisco tools. No other CM or CME configuration changes are required.
IPI uses HTTP messages to deliver content to registered Cisco IP phones.
End-users access IPI through the Services button or standard menu options on their Cisco IP phone.
Using the collaborative power of addressable networking technology in conjunction with advanced control hardware and software, Encelium's systems are designed to maximize energy savings and provide attractive returns on investment. ECS reduces lighting use and energy costs at a faster rate than other environmental measures and has an average payback on investment of two to five years. Since the company's founding in 2001, ECS has been installed in more than 25 million square feet of commercial space across North America and Europe. The company has posted a 200% annual growth increase during the last two years. Encelium is headquartered in Teaneck, N.J., with operations in Canada and Europe.
