(Washington, D.C., March 26, 2014)—The Energy Management Association (EMA) announced today that Siemens Industry has become the group’s first Founding Industry Partner.
The relationship will be formalized during EMA’s organizational meeting at the Cx Energy 2014 Conference & Expo where Siemens will also be an exhibitor. EMA is a presenter of Cx Energy, an event that connects engineers, service providers and utility companies with building owners and facility managers.
“Siemens is one of the best-known and respected brands in the field of energy management,” said Andrew Heitman, Owner, Building Energy Sciences, LLC and EMA President. “Their involvement marks an important milestone for EMA as we bring together the best minds in the product and service sectors to advance the profession of energy management.”
The Building Technologies Division of Siemens is the world leader in the market for safe and secure, energy-efficient and environment-friendly buildings and infrastructures. They’re a trusted technology partner, service provider, system integrator and product vendor in building automation, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and energy management.
The EMA is an innovative association dedicated to advancing the quality of energy management services for the benefit of building and facilities management. EMA responds to the growing importance of managing and reducing energy consumption through commissioning-based energy management. EMA membership is open to engineers, contractors, building owners, facility managers, manufacturers, utilities, commissioning providers, and others with an interest in advancing the quality of energy management services. It provides guidelines, training, education and certification programs.

EMA will play a prominent role in the upcoming Cx Energy 2014
Conference & Expo. The group’s formal launch and creation of its
board takes place April 22. EMA helped to develop Cx Energy’s
wide-ranging, 28-session technical program that addresses issues from
building envelope and specialty systems commissioning, to regulations
and standards (such as LEED v. 4 and ASHRAE 90.1), to building
automation and information management.
