Armstrong Presents New Electronic Steam Humidifier With Ionic Bed Technology
THREE RIVERS, MI: April 13, 2000 Indoor air quality, specifically proper humidification levels, is essential for personal comfort, safety, and for the protection of sensitive electronic equipment that can be damaged with a single electrostatic discharge. To meet the growing need for quality steam humidification, Armstrong International, Inc. presents its Series HC-4000 HumidiClean™ electronic steam humidifier with patented ionic bed technology.
The HumidiClean™ humidifier includes five
disposable inserts, each containing a fibrous media referred to as an ionic bed.
These ionic beds attract solids from the boiling water, preventing the solids
from plating out on the heating elements or on the inner stainless steel tank
walls. Therefore, tank cleaning is minimized and the effective service life of
parts, especially the submersed elements which traditionally accumulate scale
and chemical deposits, is greatly extended. Thus, the tank compartment stays
cleaner longer, and the unit maintains its high solids gathering efficiency and
maximum capacity throughout its operating cycle.
The submersed heating elements generate quality steam regardless of water quality or its conductivity and the unit provides the full-range of modulation. Tap water, without the addition of additives or harsh chemicals, can be used to produce clean, effective steam humidification. Deionized, demineralized, softened or reverse osmosis water sources, also may be used.

New OptiView™ Chiller Graphic Control Center
Delivers Optimum Control for Optimum Performance
YORK, Pa.- The new OptiView™ Graphic Control Center from York International Corporation gives operators a detailed look at how well their chiller is working. Better access to operating data enables real-time "tuning," so chillers can operate at peak efficiency, even at off-design conditions. Armed with real-time data, operators can adjust the chiller to optimize performance, simplify maintenance scheduling and improve reliability by pinpointing problems before they cause downtime.
The YORK OptiView uses the same AMD processor and flat-panel LCD screen found on many laptop computers to deliver the industry's only graphical interface to a chiller control. Unlike two- or three-line text-only displays, the OptiView displays chiller operation details with more than 30 full-screen, full-color diagrams, charts, and input illustrations.
The new OptiView™ Graphic Control Center is available on YORK centrifugal and screw chillers.
