Omnitron's iConverter Platform Receives MEF 9 Certification for Ethernet Services

Irvine, California, USA April 25, 2006 - Omnitron Systems Technology, a leading provider of fiber optic access systems for next generation Ethernet networks, today announced that the iConverter platform has passed the official MEF 9 UNI (User Network Interface) conformance and certification test process. The conformance and certification test process is performed by Iometrix, Inc., a leading independent testing lab, on behalf of the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF). Ethernet service providers now have formal assurance that the popular iConverter platform conforms to key MEF standards for Metro Ethernet UNI services and operations.
The iConverter platform passed all three portions of the MEF 9 test suite, including Ethernet Private Line, Ethernet Virtual Private Line and Ethernet LAN services. Private Line and Virtual Private Line services provide point-to-point Ethernet connectivity, while Ethernet LAN services are used to interconnect multiple sites. These services are typically used by bandwidth hungry business customers for voice, video and data connectivity between facilities, campuses and remote sites.
