Highlights the Versatility of the BACnet Protocol
BACnet International today announced that it has
launched a new program that showcases successful BACnet stories and highlights
the versatility of the BACnet Protocol in real-world installations. Because more
firms in the building automation industry are using the BACnet protocol, and
more examples of innovative installations are coming to light, BACnet
International created this resource to document and share these stories across
the industry. The showcase, located on the BACnet International Web site, allows

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 12, 2009 -- BACnet International today announced that it
has launched a new program that showcases successful BACnet stories and
highlights the versatility of the BACnet Protocol in real-world installations.
Because more firms in the building automation industry are using the BACnet
protocol, and more examples of innovative installations are coming to light,
BACnet International created this resource to document and share these stories
across the industry. The showcase, located on the BACnet International Web site,
allows anyone to share their BACnet integrations from around the world.
The first entry on the success stories Site features the Duffield Hall building
at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. The building is the home of the
Cornell NanoScale Science & Technology Facility and is the first large-scale
BACnet project at Cornell. The installation features BACnet-enabled devices from
Automated Logic Corporation. Each success story includes detailed and valuable
information about the BACnet installation, including; number of devices and
system points, engineering and contractor information, and the names of the
BACnet equipment manufacturers involved in the project. Full details of each
showcase success story can be found on the BACnet International Web site here:
http://www.bacnetinternational.net/success/stories.php.
BACnet Success Stories provide a valuable, additional benefit to BACnet
International Members by giving them a credible, vendor neutral venue to display
premier BACnet integration case studies. Content is peer reviewed prior to
publication and case submissions for members of BACnet International are free.
The entirely volunteer BACnet International marketing committee has been working diligently for many months to enable this benefit to its members and Kent Gorrie of Reliable Controls has been the lead technical developer that pulled the pieces together.
I applaud the staff and members of the BACnet International community for making this happen.

and Marketing Chair for BACnet International spoke about the value of the
showcase. "BACnet Success Stories provide a valuable, additional benefit to

display premier BACnet integration case studies. Content is peer reviewed prior
to publication and case submissions for members of BACnet International are
free." Mr. Wilson, added, "The entirely volunteer BACnet International marketing
committee has been working diligently for many months to enable this benefit to
its members and Kent Gorrie of Reliable Controls has been the lead technical

Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International and President/CEO of Teletrol
Systems expressed his enthusiasm for the project and appreciation to the BACnet
International community for building the success stories showcase. "This is a
great resource and a fantastic opportunity for BACnet International members to
show off their work. Giving members a place to openly promote their projects and
highlight unique features of the BACnet protocol is an extremely useful benefit
and increases the value of BACnet International membership. Because each project
is well documented and includes detailed information about their integrations,
other members can also learn about and benefit from their experiences." Mr.
McMillan continued, "I applaud the staff and members of the BACnet International
community for making this happen."
For those parties interested in submitting BACnet success stories, please visit
