Transaction expands customer, service base in Chicago
area; Strengthens Schneider Electric’s energy management leadership position
DALLAS – MAY 12, 2010 – Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy
management, has acquired the assets of ITG Solutions Inc. (ITG) of Chicago,
formerly an authorized partner that delivered building management and security
solutions to end user customers. The former partner is now the Chicago Branch
organization of the Buildings Business Americas of Schneider Electric.
Since 1981, ITG has been an industry leader in the Midwest, providing quality
products, applications and installations with expert project management focused
on meeting customer objectives. ITG employees have extensive technical expertise
in building management systems, digital video and IT networks, security, and
integrated systems, all delivered to a diverse customer base, from sales and
installation to service and training.
“Acquiring ITG provides Schneider Electric with a new base of customers who we
can help to make the most of their energy, and which will allow us to increase
market share in critical targeted markets,” said Jeff Drees, president of the
Buildings Business Americas of Schneider Electric. “The acquisition also enables
ITG’s customers to have access to a broad array of additional products,
including energy and power control devices.”
Nate Bouma, president of ITG, has joined Schneider Electric as branch manager
for the new Chicago Branch. He has 25 years of experience in the building
management systems and security industry and was involved with ITG from its
inception, serving in a variety of roles including sales, service, solutions
engineering and executive management.

“Given our long and successful partnership with Schneider Electric, I am excited
to take this next step in business alignment with such a great company,” Bouma
said. “With acquisitions and mergers, customers often experience a decline or
pullback in service offerings. This acquisition, however, is in direct contrast
to that and is about extending and improving our service and product offerings
to ITG’s customers, which will allow them to take full advantage of Schneider
Electric’s portfolio of solutions and leading industry expertise.”
Drees added: “Employees of ITG will now have the opportunity to be part of the
fastest growing and most profitable energy management company in the world,
which will open up new opportunities previously not available to them. We
welcome these employees to Schneider Electric and are pleased to provide them
with access to our technical, professional and managerial development courses
and curriculum that are some of the best in the industry.”
