New HOBO UX120 Pulse Logger merges functionality of four energy data loggers into one compact unit; optional meter adds power measurements

BOURNE, MA, May 5, 2011 — Onset Computer Corporation (http://www.onsetcomp.com),the world leader in data loggers, today announced the HOBO UX120 Pulse Logger, a highly versatile, 4-channel energy data logger that combines the functionality of four separate data loggers into a single compact unit.

The HOBO UX120 enables energy management professionals – from energy auditors to building commissioners – to easily track building energy consumption, equipment runtimes, and water and gas flow rates. It can simultaneously measure and record pulse signals, events, state changes, and runtimes, and is capable of storing up to 4 million measurements, enabling longer deployments with fewer site visits.

“The HOBO UX120 offers unparalleled energy measurement flexibility at a fraction of the cost of current multi-channel pulse logging solutions,” said Scott Ellis, product marketing specialist for Onset. “It will become a standard toolbox product for energy monitoring applications where fast deployment and a range of energy measurements are needed. For example, while the logger is monitoring power use on one channel, it can independently track gas flow on another, pump runtimes on another, etc.”

The HOBO UX120 pulse logger provides a number of features that provide users with greater control over their deployments. For example, users can start and stop the logger via software or pushbuttons, and set the logger so it continues to log/overwrite data when the memory is full.  It also provides diagnostics via on-board LEDs to assure logger operation which aids the installation process, and enables high-speed data offloads via its USB 2.0 interface.

Onset’s new HOBO Power Logging System, which merges the HOBO UX120 Pulse Logger with Onset’s E50B2 Energy and Power Meter, provides a comprehensive energy and power monitoring solution.  The flexible system can measure and record Power Factor (PF), Reactive Power (VAR), and Watt Hours (Wh) and a variety of other parameters.  Additionally, it accepts voltage ranges of 90 – 600VAC, current ranges of 5 – 32 amps, and can be used for both single and three-phase monitoring applications.

Powerful, intuitive software
The HOBO UX120 Pulse Logger and HOBO Power Logging System are compatible with Onset’s HOBOwareŽ Pro 3.2 software, which combines powerful graphing and analysis capabilities with a newly-optimized interface for configuring logging options and sensors.

Availability
The HOBO UX120-017 Pulse Logger, available in standard and expanded memory versions, and the HOBO Power Logging System, are available immediately from Onset. Visit Onset’s website for pricing details and technical specifications.
